As you all know from this post, I’ve been making an effort to transition my makeup and skincare products to much gentler, more natural ones. Here are two finds I’m loving lately–a serum and a lipgloss, both made in Portland, Oregon.
Live Botanical Fleur de Terre Calming Serum. This was recommended to me by my aesthetician, Elizabeth (go see her if you’re local, your skin will never look or feel better!). As the name states, this one in particular is a calming serum that I find really helps soothe redness. It contains calendula-infused apricot kernel oil, camellia seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, chia seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, jojoba oil and clary sage, chamomile, helichrysum, rose geranium, rose and lavender essential oils, and each ingredient is organic. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks before moisturizer at night and under makeup in the morning, and it definitely makes a difference. (If you’re going to make a purchase, I’d recommend this, which comes with three products in an adorable handmade linen pouch.) Oh, and did I mention the packaging is beautiful?
Olio E Osso lip balm in Crimson. This is truly one of my very favorite lip glosses, which is saying a lot since I am a gloss fiend. It’s very light–only a little pigment–and it definitely moisturizes your lips. I use the Crimson shade, which after being applied looks like you’ve been eating a cherry popsicle, but I think I’m going to try the French Melon shade next. All of them come in a cute little tube that reminds me a Push Pop (remember those?!), so they’re easy to apply, and they smell amazing thanks to the addition of grapefruit essential oil. (The other ingredients are olive oil, shea butter oil and beeswax, plus pigment that’s rated a 1–aka very clean–on the EWG’s Skin Deep website.)
Any green beauty products you’re loving lately? I’d love to hear!
