MONTHLY EDIT: SEPTEMBER

September 3, 2015

The perfect windbreaker. I own exactly one jacket–a peacoat–and it has three-quarter-length sleeves (welcome to life in Florida). So lately I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect windbreaker, and I think I’ve found it in this little number from Gap. At first I thought I wanted it in navy, but this cranberry color is totally growing on me. Wouldn’t it look cute with skinny jeans and a striped boatneck top?

Pumpkin spice everything! Yes, yes, I am one of those people who loves pumpkin everything (minus the–in my opinion–gross-tasting pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks–there are so many local coffee shops who do a real-deal version that’s way better). My friend Rachel owns Retrobaked, a vegan, gluten-free bakery that does sweet treats better than most other bakeries around town, and I can’t wait to get my paws on her version of a pumpkin spice cupcake with vanilla buttercream and spiced maple-date caramel. .

Animal-print accessories, especially shoes. I love a good animal-print accent piece–particularly in shoe from–and these Loeffler Randall cheetah-print lace-up flats totally fit the bill.

Mindy Kaling’s new book. I loved Mindy Kaling’s first book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, so I’m really excited for her second, Why Not Me? It comes out September 15 and I’ve already requested a copy from the local library. (Side note: Since getting my library card I’ve been reading like a fool, so a books round-up is coming soon–would love to hear what you’ve been reading, too.)

What’s on your radar right now? Are you excited that the start of a new season is almost upon us?
