NEW OBSESSION: RMS BEAUTY

August 27, 2015

I’m in the process of giving my skincare and makeup routine a little bit of an overhaul, and am trying to use as many natural products as possible since my skin is so sensitive that anything else totally freaks it out. (I learned this the hard way at a beauty event for work a few weeks ago.) I’d been wanting to try RMS Beauty products for awhile–the Living Luminzer has perpetually been in my shopping cart–and finally, since I had some extra birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, I decided to try a few of them.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, RMS Beauty products are made with food-grade, organic products–many of them have a coconut oil base–and free of harmful chemicals and synthetic ingredients. (They also come in cute little glass tubs.)  I wouldn’t call them inexpensive, but I use so little of each product every day that I’m confident the cost-per-use will totally even out. And, for me, certain skincare and makeup products are worth spending a little extra money on, especially because my skin is so finicky.

So, with that said, here are the three RMS Beauty products I’ve tried…

Raw coconut creamThis is a great makeup remover and moisturizer. At night, I rub a little bit (a very little bit–this’ll last me a long time) between my palms to melt it (it does indeed come in creamy form), then massage it into my face and remove with a washcloth and warm water. I follow it up with a swipe of the best toner ever and I’m good to go.

Lip2Cheek in DemureI love this product. I’d been wanting to try a cream blush, and the fact that this doubles as a lip product is delightful. Demure is a true, almost Pepto Bismal-y pink, but don’t let that put you off–when you blend it on your face, it gives a nice, natural glow–like you’ve just pinched your cheeks. And when I wear it on my lips, I like that it’s a change from my usual go-to red or berry lip stain.

Living Luminizer: Someone somewhere described this product as being like “a real-life Instagram filter,” and I 100 percent agree with that. It’s pretty much a miracle product, guaranteed to brighten your face and make you look like you’re glowing from within. You only need a teeny-tiny bit; I smudge it on the tips of my fingers and then pat it from my brow bones down to the top of my cheekbones and on my cupid’s bow. And I’ve only been using it when I have an event or special occasion, so I use less and (at least in my mind) the impact is even more special.

In a nutshell: I’m totally satisfied with these products so far–if I had to pick just one to re-buy, I’d probably say the Living Luminzer, although the Lip2Cheek is a very close second–and I’m really interested in trying the tinted “un”-powder next. Oh, and a heads-up: if you sign up for RMS Beauty’s mailing list, you can get 15 percent off your first order. Not too shabby (I love a good coupon code).

P.S. This post is in no way sponsored, I just really love the products and support what RMS Beauty stands for.
