So, a few weeks back I mentioned that I’d signed up to do a 20-classes-in-31-days Pure Barre challenge. Initially I was confident I could do it, then I started to think that maybe I was crazy for trying to pack so many classes into such a short period of time (I slacked off my first week so I really had to hustle the rest of the month), and then, towards the end, I just started to feel good. I took six classes a week for two weeks in a row, and my body really adjusted to being at the barre that often. And guess what? Yesterday I finished the challenge! Not to toot my own horn too much, but I’m really proud of myself. I have a tendency to commit to certain things and then kind of peter out halfway through, and I didn’t do that with this. R. jokes that I have a Pure Barre obsession, and OK, I probably do, but I can’t deny that I feel healthier, leaner and stronger physically and mentally after completing the challenge. Plus, the people that teach and go to classes at the Sarasota studio are just the best.

Have you ever done a fitness challenge? How’d you feel after doing it?
