THE LITTLE LEMON TREE THAT COULD.

lemons

A year or two ago, I got a Meyer lemon tree from a hardware store and set it up on the lanai of my old apartment, where I basically left it alone aside from making sure to water it. Last year, it produced its first harvest: A couple of wee little lemons that I happily used in my water or dishes that called for lemon juice.

In January of 2014, R. and I moved into our current house, and we put the lemon tree in the back yard, where I proceeded to do even less with it (again, with the exception of occasionally watering it). Well, this year my little tree yielded six (!) full-size lemons. (I lost one behind the fence, which is why you only see five here.) Hooray!

There’s basically no point to this post other than to tell you I’m proud of my lemon tree. So there you have it.
