Happy Friday, friends! What are your plans for the weekend? I’m going to a friend’s kiddo’s first-birthday party, and I’m also planning on decking the heck out of our halls (seriously, Target has so much gold-and-white holiday amazingness right now–I cannot wait to go shopping. I think R. is scared) and sending out our holiday cards. Best of all, the weather has been wonderfully cool (daytime temps in the 60s, night temps in the low 50s and upper 40s), so it actually feels like December and Christmastime and all that good stuff.

What about you? What are you up to? Tell me–and if you’re in the mood for some reading (or shopping), here are 10 fun links.

Wise words from my younger brother, who was recently recognized for “outstanding commitment” to the Marine Corps (SO PROUD.)

New York magazine’s Julieanne Smolinski tries to actually lose a guy in 10 days (you know, like the movie), and the resulting article is laugh-out-loud hilarious.

This year’s best actors, in nine kisses. This is delightful.

Perfect printable gift tags from Oh Happy Day.

A giant cookie is the best party dessert, says Food52, and I agree.

Gold elephant T-shirt!

Jane Hawking on how she fell in love with Stephen. (Still dying to see The Theory of Everything!)

73 questions with the incredibly charming Reese Witherspoon. (Lil’ Spoon!) (Also, I love this series.)

Travel tip: How to pack without wrinkles.

And finally, this review of Wild makes me even more excited to see it. It’ll be in Sarasota on December 19! Did you read the book?

Have a wonderful weekend!
