weekend links

Happy Friday, friends! Sarasota’s social season is in full swing these days, which means that I’ve had events for work almost every night of the week. It’s super-fun, but it’s been kind of non-stop and I’m trying to figure out how to balance it with the other stuff I have going on–you know, family, friends, puppy time, working out, cooking, etc. The good thing is, we’re actually going away for Thanksgiving this year, so a little mini-vacation (complete with lots of mashed potatoes) is on the horizon. And in the meantime, my self-described “extroverted introvert” self  will embrace the whole going-out-and-being-social thing. Especially because when it comes down to it, I really do enjoy it.

Happy weekend, friends! If you’re in the mood for some reading this weekend, here are 11 great links:

On kindness.

A travel guide to Savannah, one of my favorite cities in this country. (We actually stayed in the hotel Kate mentions before it became an Andaz/Hyatt property and it is indeed lovely.)

And a cute Charleston print. Hooray for the South!

This tiny apartment is awesome. Color! Pattern! Gold accents! Love.

What a cool wreath.

Beauty editors’ favorite makeup/skincare products. (I have tried that Kevyn Aucoin mascara and it is really good.)

The brilliant Melissa Clark on how to cook a turkey. (Thanksgiving is soon, dudes.)

And for the day after Thanksgiving: Brioche cinnamon rolls with brown-butter frosting.

Jane’s Sunday Bests are always a treat, and I love her thoughts on style in the last paragraph of this one.

“I lost it when I lost my work husband.” This is a fun/funny read.

Here is a baby beagle learning to howl. You’re welcome.

P.S. Some holiday baking posts you may have missed: Pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin cheesecake and the tastiest gingersnaps.
