FRIDAY LINKS!

Happy Friday, friends! What are you doing this weekend? This is one of the few precious weekends until the end of the year that we’re not going to be traveling or have visitors, and I’m really excited to stay in town. Tonight we’re having friends over for pizza and games, tomorrow I’m getting a long-overdue haircut, tomorrow night I have an event and then Sunday I’m planning on holing up in the kitchen and making a big pot of Marcella Hazan’s Bolognese, since it’s going to be cool and the thought of a delicious-smelling sauce simmering away on the stove for several hours just sounds delightful and cozy.

What about you? What are you up to? If you’re in the mood for some weekend reading, here are 10 fun links:

Six stretches for people who sit at desks all day.

Related: A health manifesto.

Burnout in the Internet age. This is a really good read.

John Oliver’s thoughts on the sugar industry are spot-on and hilarious. “Cranberries taste like cherries who hate you!” (P.S. I love John Oliver.)

This sausage, kale and potato soup sounds perfect for the cooler nights we’re having.

Speaking of food: R.’s mom and sister are coming to visit next week and I’m making this cake to celebrate their (belated) birthdays.

If you’re in the mood for some shopping: 20 percent off sweaters at Anthropologie right now.

Also, this T-shirt is perfect.

A great interview with Stephen King (who lives in Sarasota!).

These three memoirs all sound so good. What are you reading right now?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
