Charleston by Olivia Rae James

Happy Friday, everyone!

What’s known as “season” in Sarasota–the time of year when the snowbirds start migrating South and the social activities pick up–is here, and it just feels really busy, personally and professionally, around these parts. Next week I have four work events before I leave for my trip to Boston (!!), in addition to my usual commitments, but I kind of love it. Summer is not a good season for me–the heat starts to get to me and I feel inert, lethargic. But fall–even here in Florida, where it’s still 85-plus degrees until November–always feels like a fresh start, a time of year when I want to be busy and get things done. I’ve noticed a marked difference in the way I’ve been feeling for the past week or so: eating better, working out more, saying yes to more activities and generally feeling more energized and motivated. So that’s good.

Oh, and if you’re in the mood for some weekend reading, here you go:

Underwater photos of puppies learning to swim. OMG. Do yourself a favor and click this.

Texting anxiety caused by tiny bubbles. (Funny because it’s true.)

Maple spiced almond milk with a hint of pumpkin. Will be making this for sure.

These four sisters have taken a portrait a year for 40 years, and the photos are beautiful.

Helpful email rules (particularly the one about BCCs. Why?! I feel about BCCs the same way I do about group texts: they are almost always unnecessary).

Loving Ashley’s “The Work We Do” series.

I’m dying to go back to Charleston, one of my very favorite cities. These photos are just beautiful.

Have a great October weekend, friends.
