I love makeup, and I wear it every day, but my basic routine is pretty simple: BB cream, a little mineral powder, blush, mascara, lipgloss/lipstick. If I’m feeling really fancy, I’ll put on some eyeshadow, but I only do that when I’m going to a formal event, like a wedding or a gala.
That said, I’ve always wanted to master eyeliner. Until recently, I’ve been notoriously terrible at applying it–I smudge it, I draw it on too thick, I draw it on too thin, you get the idea. I’d basically given up on ever using it, until I came across this great tutorial on how to create a perfect winged look using Scotch tape and black liquid liner with a sharp felt tip. And guess what? The tips actually work.
Granted, I’m still an eyeliner novice, so when I put it on it doesn’t look quite as perfect as this photo, and I have a feeling it probably never will. But it’s still fun to have this little trick in my back pocket, and best of all, the look is subdued enough to wear to work but pretty enough to wear on a night out, too. Here’s the full tutorial, if you’re so inclined.
Do you wear eyeliner? Would you try this look?
P.S. This is the liner I use, which the article also recommends.
