Mindy Kaling

…especially since I’m barre-crazy right now, myself. From the awesome Mindy Kaling’s guest-editor’s letter in The Chalkboard Magazine this month:

“Don’t get me wrong, I am always trying to be healthier. Right now I’m barre-class crazy, and I took five Physique 57 classes in New York when I was visiting last week. It’s so hard, and I love the stretching, because I am very wooden and inflexible, like a nutcracker. I also find it competitively exhilarating to be in the same class with some of the most toned, Type-A, Manhattan hot girls. They do not fuck around, and being near their sinewy selves makes me feel like I have my life together.”

I snort-laughed when I read this, because I can 100 percent relate to everything she writes in both that paragraph and the entire piece, which is a total gem. Read it–and giggle along with me–right here.

I like her attitude! Sometimes when I’m in yoga and the girl next me to is all legs and long arms and is toothpick thin but still strong as hell, I’m all “WHY NOT ME?!”. It’s a bad habit to compare. Go Mindy for reminding us that we don’t need to make ourselves feel bad when we are around people who are just…different. 🙂

I just think she’s fab. Do you watch The Mindy Project? It’s hilar.
