Maryanne Moodie weaving MAM2

I love Instagram. It’s by far my favorite social network, and I love not only taking pictures to post on my own account, but scrolling through others’ photos and discovering new people to follow. Perfect example: I was laying in my sick bed this weekend, scrolling through my feed, when I clicked through to someone else’s account and discovered that she makes the most beautiful tapestries ever.

Maryanne Moodie recently relocated her studio from Australia to Brooklyn, and she hand-weaves pieces that reference contemporary art, couture and architecture. The results are stunning, and I would love to have one hanging in my own home (especially now that we’re almost done painting everything). Maryanne works on commission, so if you’re interested in having something made, send her an email via her site. And make sure you follow her on Instagram, too.

I emailed her to inquire about pricing because I’m so interested! Haven’t heard back yet so I don’t even know if one of these beauties is in my price range, but I’ve got my fingers crossed!
