Pure Barre Sarasota

I can’t remember if I’ve ever written about this before, but have you guys ever done barre classes? (I know Julie has.) Last year, my lovely friend and coworker Lauren convinced me to take a Pure Barre class with her, and I totally fell in love with the workout (despite the fact that after the first time I ever went, I literally couldn’t lift my arms the next day and found it very difficult to sit down). I did it three-four times per week for a couple of months and saw results after like four classes, and then I stopped–mostly because the studio I was going to (Sarasota has two) was kind of far away. I always missed it, though.

So when I realized I could sign up for the new client package at the studio that’s close to my house (um, why didn’t I do that in the first place?), I jumped at the chance, and I took my first class there yesterday. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be just as sore as I was after my first-ever class, but I can’t even tell you how great I felt after the 55-minute lift-tone-burn sesh. There’s been some sad family stuff happening in my life over the past week, so stepping into the studio with a friendly group of ladies and doing the workout until my muscles shook was just what the doctor ordered. It’s hard for me to completely zone out when I’m working out–I’m almost always thinking about something else, whether it be work or that I want the workout to be over with–but I can do it with Pure Barre, and I’m always shocked when the class is over.

    I don’t think we have barre here but ive read ao much about it I’d love to try it. Although the ladies in those pics look in some serious workout pain!

    WORK! So, so glad you are doing this, barre classes are THE best. It’s my favorite when my body just revolts at the end/the next day.

      Yes, absolutely the best! I always come out of class feeling great, no matter what the day’s been like. High five for barre!

    I’ve never taken this before! But I have started back into Zumba and Spin class and it is SO wonderful to make time for yourself at the end of the day, no matter what. Kudos to you for making time for yourself.
