This gratitude probably deserves more explanation than I have time to write, and as a result I’m kind of afraid it’s going to come off as more self-centered than I mean it to, but today I’m grateful for the fact that I’m an optimist. My best friend Kate often tells me that I live in the marshmallow–the “marshmallow” being a fluffy, sweet state of mind where everything is happy all the time–but you know what? After a hard week (and yes, I know it’s only Tuesday), I’m happy that I have a generally sunny outlook on life; that I almost always believe everything will be OK. I feel like that’s a gift I was given by someone or something outside my control, and I’m really thankful for it.

Optimism is one of those traits I think you can be predisposed to, but it does take work + perspective over time. Your positive outlook can inspire others too–not self-centered at all. Hope the week looks up!
